What is Laser Engraving?

A permanent marking process that uses a focused laser to mark branding, serial numbers, or barcodes directly into a part's surface, with no ink or chemicals involved.

How it works

A laser beam locally heats and alters the surface of the material, either ablating a thin layer or changing its color, leaving a permanent mark with no physical contact and no consumables beyond the laser itself.

  • Permanent and abrasion-resistant, won't wear off or peel like printed ink
  • No ink, solvents, or consumables to manage
  • Precise enough for small, dense text like serial numbers and data matrix codes
