What is Media Blasting?

A general surface-preparation process that propels abrasive media at a part under pressure, producing a uniform matte texture and removing surface contamination left behind by prior operations.

How it works

Media, chosen for the base metal and the roughness target, is blasted at the part in a controlled cabinet. The impact evens out tool marks and machining lines across the whole surface, producing a consistent matte texture rather than a directional or polished one.
