3, 4 and 5-axis milling for complex geometry, pockets, and multi-sided features.

How it works

Milling starts with a block or sheet of raw material — square stock, plate, sometimes round bar — clamped to the machine bed. A spinning cutting tool (drill or end mill) then removes material to cut the part's features.

3-axis machining moves the tool along X, Y, and Z — the standard setup for most flat and pocketed geometry, and it can combine all three directions in a single continuous cut.

5-axis machining adds rotation on two more axes, usually by tilting or spinning the workbed itself rather than the tool. That extra rotation lets one setup reach angles and undercuts a 3-axis machine would need multiple repositions for — fewer setups, less chance of misalignment between features.
