What is Hand Polishing?

A manual finishing process using progressively finer abrasive compounds to bring a part to a clear or mirror-like cosmetic finish, applied by hand rather than by machine.

How it works

A technician works the part's surface by hand, or with a hand-held buffing wheel, through a sequence of progressively finer abrasive compounds. Each stage removes the scratch pattern left by the previous one, until the surface reaches the target clarity or reflectivity.
